Oil Quality
All Audi engines must always use engine oils that conform to the applicable Audi Oil Quality Standard. No other engine oils may be used. This also
applies when topping off engine oil between services.
Recommendation for Customers
It is recommended that the customer always carry a spare quart/liter of engine oil that conforms to the applicable Audi Oil Quality Standard in case
the engine oil needs topping off while on the road. The spare quart/liter of oil should be stored in its original container, securely closed in the
luggage compartment. Ensure the container is securely stowed.
Note:
Use of the wrong oil may damage the engine. Damage caused by using the wrong oil will not be covered by the applicable vehicle warranties.

обеспеченный. Необходимый катализатор работает только при температуре выше 300 с (572). Для этого катализатор нагревается. Топление катализатора
фаза достигается поздним углом зажигания и введением дополнительного свежего воздуха в выпускные клапаны (система вторичного воздуха).Поздние углы зажигания обеспечивают более высокую температуру выхлопных газов в баллонах. Этот выхлопной газ включает топливо которое ООН-горит, и
был намеренно введен в больших количествах. Система вторичного воздуха добавляет свежий воздух к выхлопному газу по мере того как она выходит цилиндр и дополнительное топливо
обжигать. В результате, температуры выхлопного газа и катализатора увеличивают быстро.
Эффекты:
Дожигание в выпускном коллекторе перед катализатором изменяет звуковую характеристику двигателя. Vehicle Information
Condition
The customer may report hearing wind noise while driving at highway speeds. The noise may occur on either side of the vehicle.
Technical Background
Wind noise may be coming from either the mirror base or the lane change assist lamp. Improved parts are available.
Production Solution
Improved parts have been implemented into production.
Service
First, identify the portion of the mirror that is the source of the noise by separately taping two areas and performing a road test with the tape in place:
1. Apply tape to the horizontal seam between the mirror mount assembly and the painted cover (Figure 1) to determine if the noise is coming from
the mirror base.
^ If the mirror base is not the source of the noise, move to step 2.
^ If the mirror base is the source of the noise, replace the mirror base according to the ElsaWeb Repair manual: Body >> Body Exterior >> 66

2. If the vehicle is equipped with lane change assist, remove the first piece of tape, then apply tape to cover the lane change assist marker lens

Technical Background
The CD and DVD changer have different operating concepts.
CD changer
MMI3G:
Disks in the CD changer are always automatically changed from one to the next.
MMI3G+ (with Audi connect):
Disks in the CD changer are automatically changed from one to the next, but this operation is disabled when the Repeat option is turned on in the
Media Settings menu. By default (MMI factory default setting) the repeat option is set to "Off" as in the image below.
DVD changer (A8 only)

TECHNISCHER HINTERGRUND
Als die ölwanne Dichtung gelegt hat, das das Drehmoment der Schrauben verringert, und die Dichtung kann undicht werden.

Für Getriebe 01V und 01L: Keine änderung.
Für Getriebe 09E und 09L, Gummi-Metall sump pan Siegel aus:

SERVICE
1. Ziehen Sie die transmission sump pan-Schrauben auf das angegebene Drehmoment. (Siehe Reparatur-Handbuch für spezifische Modell).
2. Reinigen Sie die ölwanne pan und das Getriebegehäuse mit Bremsenreiniger-spray.
3. Testen Sie das Fahrzeug und prüfen die ölwanne-Dichtung für Leckagen. Ein feucht-Siegel ist normal.

Customer may report the front of the passenger floor mat is wet after heavy rains.
Technical Background
The flat surface of the fresh air intake may warp over time and cause a gap where it meets with the plenum wall.
During heavy rains, water can back up and enter the vehicle through this gap.
Production Solution
The torque value and tightening sequence of the three mounting nuts have been optimized for production.

1. Remove and install the fresh air intake according to the repair manual.

2. After the plenum cover and fresh air intake grill have been removed, and before removing the fresh air intake, verify the customer complaint
by applying water to the top surface where the fresh air intake meets the plenum wall using a hose. Visually check for water leaking into the
blower intake. (Figure 1).
3. Apply a bead of butyl cord around the perimeter of fresh air intake, to the outside of the existing rubber seal. (Figure 2).
4. Verify the repair.

Technical Background
Animal damage primarily occurs on easily accessible, exposed cables and on thin cables.
Production Solution
Continuous improvements.
Service
1. On electric cables, the biting damage is difficult to recognize because of the thin sheathing. Disconnect the electric cables to check for damage on
rubber hoses.
2. Stretch the hose and inspect the damaged area of the cable with a suitable light.
Prickmarks are typical of biting damage (Figures 1 and 2). If pricks are found, animal damage can be assumed.

The cracked/fractured surface in Figure 3 can be diagnosed with damage code "torn" or "broken," although an animal bite was the cause.
Check the adjacent area for pricks by slightly stretching the hose.
Further indications of an animal bite are tattered insulation mats, animal hairs/feathers or paw marks.
3. Replace the damaged components according to the Repair Manual.
4. To avoid future animal bites, advise the customer to clean the engine compartment. Electrical deterrents and cable protection have proven
effective, but 100% protection cannot be guaranteed.

This damage is due to outside influence and is not covered by any Audi warranty.

Recommended animal protection measures:

^ Electric deterrents. Similar to electric fences, these deterrents ensure effective and sustainable protection. Animals are driven away by harmless
electric shocks. Such systems are commercially available.
^ Cable protection. Slotted corrugated pipes of hard plastic are pulled over the cables. No cables must be omitted. Corrugated pipes for cables and
thin hoses are shown in the special parts catalogue under HG 09, UG 71, illustration 979-00. Cables and hoses must not become kinked.

"Niedriger ölstand" - Nachricht ist in der DIS-oder MMI.
Technischer Hintergrund
Die Haube muss offen sein für mindestens 30 Sekunden für einen reset dieser Nachricht durchgeführt werden. Die Nachricht wird nicht zurückgesetzt in der DIS/MMI, weil die
Kapuze nicht erkannt wurde, als eröffnet wegen eines nicht funktionsfähigen Motorhaube Kontaktschalter.
Produktion Lösung
Verbesserte Kapuze-Kontakt Schalter wurden in aktuellen Serienfahrzeugen, und einer software-änderung mit verbesserter Logik ist geplant fürProduktion.
Service
Check-hood-Kontakt-Schalter: Verwenden Sie den VAS-Diagnosetester zu Lesen MVB 26 in der J393 - Comfort-System Control-Modul (Adresse, code 46) nach
die Haube geöffnet und geschlossen.
Wenn sich der Wert nicht ändert, dann ersetzen Sie nur den Kontakt schalten. Folgen Sie den geltenden Anweisungen aufgeführt, die in ElsaWeb für den Austausch des

Es gibt zwei Zulieferer für die B8 Motorhaube einrastet. Überprüfen Sie die Teilenummer auf den aktuellen Kontakt-Schalter-Anschluss, um festzustellen, welche Teilenummer mussbestellt: 8T0953236B oder 8K0953236A (Abbildung 1).
Die beiden Anbieter benutzen verschiedene designs für den Kontakt-Schalter (Abbildung 2). Also, die Montage ist etwas anders auf die verschiedenen Kapuze

Condition
Customer may report the ignition key cannot be removed despite selecting mode "P".
The vehicle is mechanically in park but park is not recognized electrically.
Customer is unable to move shifter from the park position.
On vehicles with advanced key, the vehicle cannot be locked by remote control after switching off the engine.
Technical Background
The selector lever adjustment "P" is sporadically not recognized; therefore, the ignition key is not cleared or the locking of the vehicle is prevented.
The following entry is often logged in the memory:
05 - Vehicle authorization system.
00230 - Switch for gearbox position 00230, disruption/short circuit to positive/earth Sporadic.
Production Solution
Optimized selector lever (November 2009).
Service
Try to reproduce the customer complaint so that it can be clearly assigned to this TSB. The following repair must only be carried out if all criteria
match exactly; otherwise, this solution will not work and repeat repairs may be necessary. In such cases, we may reject the warranty claim and debit
the parts.
1. Check whether further entries are logged in control units such as ABS, vehicle authorization system, engine, gearbox, etc. If this is the case,
complete the guided fault finding. This TSB is only for the fault listed above. Use a separate claim for any other faults stored
2. If there is no result, check the following points:

Adjust the shift cable according to the repair manual.
Check the selector lever and the release button for ease of movement.
Note:
Lubricants and oils can contaminate the micro switches (F305) and lead to long-term damage. Do not apply lubricants such as silicon oil to the
gearshift housing, even if the gearshift housing appears to be stiff.
Measure the resistance of the switch F305 (required value in position P about 470 Ohm).
Replace F305 if out of spec being careful not to break the tabs on the housing.
3. Adjust/repair any damage found.
If no damage is found, replace the complete gearshift housing.

Vehicle Information
Condition
The master key with remote control does not engage or stay in the ignition lock.
^ On vehicles without Advanced Key, the remote keys are inoperable.

^ On vehicles with Advanced Key:
^ Keyless unlocking/locking using the door handle and keyless opening of the trunk lid using the trunk handle are inoperable.
^ The vehicle cannot be started with the Start/Stop button.
^ The remote keys are inoperable.
^ These conditions may be present:
^ The message ~ignition lock faulty may appear in the instrument cluster driver information display.
^ DTC 00166 (Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- Incorrect Signal) may be stored in Comfort System Central Control Module J393
(address word 46).
Technical Information
It is possible that objects have been inserted into the ignition lock, which causes the slide of the ignition lock to become stuck in the rear part of the
lock (S-contact position). The stuck slide is not allowed to return to the starting point (0-position).
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
1. With the ignition lock installed in the vehicle, return the slide to its starting point.
2. Insert your index finger into the ignition lock, gently press the slide to the end stop (max. force 30N, about 5mm), then release, allowing the slide
to bounce back.
3. With your index finger, hold the lower locking latch (Figure 2) and pull the slide out approximately 7mm.

4. Additionally, light compressed air may be used to blow out dirt or debris from the ignition lock.
5. Please explain to the customer that the problem is caused by inserting unsuitable objects into the ignition lock.

Technical Background
Torque sticks and torque extension bars are not approved by Audi of America, Inc. and should not be used to apply torque to wheel bolts.
Always use a calibrated torque wrench to attain the correct wheel bolt torque. Proper use of a calibrated torque wrench ensures that all wheel bolts
are tightened equally and reduces the chances of repeat repairs.
Using methods other than a calibrated torque wrench to attain correct wheel bolt torque may lead to the following problems:
^ Brake disc damage.
^ Brake pulsation.
^ Steering wheel vibration.
^ Vehicle vibration.
^ Hub damage.
^ Wheel damage.
^ Wheel bolt damage.

お客様との報告や機能の電力調整可能なステアリングコラム間欠動作しません。技術的背景
の入力システムは、標準利便性能の電力調整可能なステアリングコラムです。 時の入力機能をonにして(図
1Bを押し、ステアリングコラム移動し、駐車位置を点火されoff、キーが削除されます。 の駐

The thumb wheel or option for daytime running lights is turned off by mistake.

Check whether the daytime running lights thumb wheel is switched on. The DRL thumb wheel is located next to the light switch. On vehicles without
a DRL thumb wheel, the DRLs are activated through the main headlight switch, by switching to DRL.
A4 (8K), A5, A6, A8, Audi Q7:
In vehicles with MMI, the daytime running lights are switched on via the menu option Exterior light control or Exterior Lighting.

Customer statement:
^ After refueling, a different "distance to empty" (vehicle range) is shown than last time the fuel tank was filled.
^ The vehicle range display drops inconsistently.
^ After refueling, the vehicle range display does not change for a long period of time.
^ When driving on hilly roads for a long time the vehicle range display suddenly changes significantly.
There are no DTCs in J285 (address word 17) related to fuel senders.
This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board
computer.
Technical Background
The primary purpose for the range display is to prevent the vehicle from running out of fuel, meaning well before the tank is totally empty a warning
will be given and the range may show 0 miles. The warning (acoustic warning and fuel low indicator) is provided as soon as the fuel gauge needle
enters the red zone.
The average and instant consumption figures shown in the on-board computer are not used for calculating the range. The range is calculated using an
internal, weighted value instead. Two different calculation methods (filter algorithms) are used for determining the range display:
1) Vehicles before model year 2009:
Audi A3 (8P), A4 (8E), A6 (4F) up to model year 2008, A8 (4E), Audi Q7 (4L) up to model year 2008, TT (8J) and all predecessors:
Only consumption figures of the last 50 kilometers (31 miles) are included, whereby the last kilometer has the highest weighting and the first the
lowest.
If the driver drives efficiently right before he refuels the vehicle, this can cause the vehicle range display to be noticeably higher than the previous
fill-up. Conversely, an aggressive driving style can cause the fuel range display to be lower than previous.
2) Vehicles from model year 2009:
Audi A4 (8K), A5 (8T), A6 (4F) from model year 2009, A6 (4G), A7 (4G), A8 (4H), Audi Q5 (8R), Audi Q7 (4L) from model year 2009 and all
successors.
A gradual driving profile is built from the last 50 kilometers (31 miles) and 500 kilometers (310 miles): The short-term consumption figures over the
last 50 kilometers (31 miles) and the long-term figures over 500 kilometers (310 miles) are included in the calculation, which is also based on the
tank volume.
With this method the range display can only rise when driving efficiently for extended periods, resulting in a more realistic "expected" fuel range.
Tip: With both methods the range display after filling up depends on the driving style before filling up. This means the range displayed after fill-up
will not be the same in all cases. In addition, the remaining range display does not refer to the whole tank volume. It only indicates a trend based on
the short to medium-term fuel consumption.

Brems pulsation kann bezogen werden:
^ Rost Anhaftungen und/oder Bremsbelag Spuren auf discs.^ Dies kann durch Nässe oder längere Zeiträume, der das Fahrzeug nicht Gefahren wird.
^ Das kann sich auch auf die Fahrzeuge an PDI oder diejenigen, die bereits an Kunden ausgeliefert.
^ Bremsscheibendicke variation.
^ Thermischen Verzerrung der Bremsscheiben.
^ Verschlissene Bremsbeläge und-Scheiben.
^ Fehlerhafte Fahrwerkskomponenten (Traggelenke, Spurstangen, buchsen, etc.).
^ Unwucht von Rädern und Reifen.

Diagnose
^ Überprüfen Sie, ob alle Beschwerden mit einem test.^ Komplette Bremse Pulsieren-Service-Baum (befestigt). Füllen Sie es aus, wie Sie arbeiten auf dem Fahrzeug und befestigen Sie eine Kopie des reparaturauftrags.
^ Prüfen Sie auch die folgenden Punkte:
^ Auf welche Geschwindigkeit wird das pulsieren anfangen? Bei welcher Drehzahl macht die pulsation zu stoppen?
^ Mit wie viel Pedaldruck (light / medium / high) kann die pulsation erzeugt werden?
^ Wo ist die pulsation beobachtet? (lenkrad / Bremspedal / seat / vor dem Fahrzeug)
^ Roll das Fahrzeug in den etablierten Drehzahlbereich ohne Bremsen und überprüfen Sie die Vibrationen.
^ Wenn notwendig, reinigen Sie die disc, Bremsen, Korrosion oder Rückstände.^ Verwenden Sie immer die beigefügte Bremsscheibe/Bremsbelag-Messung-Form (bekannt gegeben im Garantie-Rundschreiben AWA 05-06) zu dokumentieren Bremsscheibe und pad
Dicke. Befestigen Sie ein ausgefülltes Exemplar in den Reparaturauftrag.
Rost Anhaftungen und/oder Bremsbelag Markierungen auf Bremsscheiben

Avant de commander le coffret de réparation, utilisez un VAS testeur de diagnostic pour déterminer le numéro de pièce de la porte de l'unité de contrôle.
^ Si le numéro de pièce est 8T0 959 793 J (ou index supérieur) pour le côté conducteur ou 8T0 959 792 J (ou index supérieur) pour les passagers côté, l'ensemble de la

3. L'amélioration de la fenêtre régulateur est équipé d'un second clip sur le bas du câble doit être attaché à la porte de la coquille. Il s'attache à un trou de près de
le capteur d'accélération latérale. Ce trou a été dans la porte shell depuis la mi-2008 à la production.
Déterminer si le trou est présent. Si ce trou n'est pas présent, le trou doit être percé.
226un. Retirez les coussins gonflables latéraux, capteur de collision dans la porte pour établir la position du trou.
b. En utilisant les bords de l'ouverture de l'airbag latéral capteur de collision comme un guide, tracer des lignes perpendiculaires, comme illustré dans la Figure 6.

Diamètre du trou: 6.5 mm
c. Perceuse et limer le trou.
d. Appliquer l'Anti-Corrosion Wash Primer ALN 002 003 10 avec un pinceau et laisser sécher entièrement.
e. Traiter la surface avec Anti-Corrosion à la Cire D 308 5 A1.

Soyez prudent de ne pas autoriser la cire à venir en contact avec le capteur d'accélération latérale.f. Fermer le trou utilisé par la fenêtre d'origine régulateur avec Bonde N 909 826 01.
Installer l'ensemble de l'ensemble de réparation
^ Assurez-vous d'installer tous les composants de l'ensemble de réparation.
Astuce: unités de commande de Portes avec index en dessous de "J" installé avec l'amélioration de la fenêtre de l'autorité de dysfonctionnement.
^ Supplémentaires boulon WHT 004 905 sera nécessaire. Ce boulon n'est pas inclus dans le coffret de réparation. Un boulon par la porte est nécessaire.
^ Dans certains cas, le joint d'étanchéité fourni dans le coffret de réparation peut être nécessaire de modifier légèrement.
Selon le NIV du véhicule, il y a deux profils de porte.
