Affected Vehicles



Condition



The customer is able to program one or all of the Homelink buttons using their garage door/gate remote transmitter. After a few days or even weeks,



the button no longer functions. There are no DTCs stored in any control units, and the LED on the button which was once programmed, now flashes



slowly indicating no programming is stored.



The customers transmitter operates at 295Mhz (can be seen on back of transmitter), and the Homelink system loses the original programming to any



one of the three Homelink buttons after a few days or weeks.



Technical Background



The garage door transmitter was designed with an operational frequency range of which the 295Mhz works correctly during the initial programming



of the system. Over time, and especially in warmer climates, the transmitting frequency given out by the factory installed transmitter on the vehicle



can drift out of range, thus causing the system to "lose" its programming.



Production Solution



Design changed for future model releases but current production has not been changed.



Service



Audi Technical Service would like to gather more information about each customer case. In addition to this, a temporary solution has been provided



by the supplier, JCI. In order for the customer to receive the solution part, you must open up a Technical Assistance ticket in ElsaWeb and attach a



photo or scanned copy of the back of the customers remote transmitter. Please reference this TSB number in the ticket.

1. Exécuter le plan de test dans le VAS5051 testeur avant d'effectuer toute réparation.2. Sélectionnez: Fonction/Composant de Sélection: groupe Motopropulseur >> Moteur >> lubrification du Moteur >> Partielle des systèmes de >> l'Huile de mesures de la consommation.



3. Suivez VAS5051 protocole de test exactement et de documenter toutes les informations sur l'huile de mesure feuilles.



4. Archives de la VAS5051 journal de diagnostic et d'huile test de mesure de feuilles dans le véhicule de service de fichier.

De Formation Technique



Il y a un logiciel de diagnostic d'erreur dans l'accès autorisation de démarrage de l'unité de contrôle (J393) qui n'autorise pas ce DTC d'être effacé de lafaute de mémoire. En conséquence, l'accès autorisation de démarrage de l'unité de contrôle (J393) doit avoir son logiciel de mise à jour après le remplacement de l'électronique



verrou de colonne de direction (J764) afin de permettre à la DTC à être effacé de la (J393) de l'unité de contrôle. Remplacement de la colonne de direction serrure électronique



(J764) un deuxième temps ne permettra pas à la DTC entrée dans le J393 d'être effacées.

Logiciel d'optimisation a été mis en production.

Astuce: mettre à Jour le logiciel de l'accès et autorisation de démarrage (J393) unité de contrôle pour AVANT de changer la colonne de direction serrure électronique (J764)unité de commande une SECONDE fois. Remplacement de la colonne de direction serrure électronique de l'unité de contrôle d'un deuxième délai ne pourra être acceptée par la garantie. Ce contrôle



l'unité ne doit être remplacé qu'une seule fois.



1. Il existe deux variations possibles de l'accès autorisation de démarrage de l'unité de contrôle (J393) et ils peuvent être reconnus par les deux partie



numéros, 8K0 907 064 XX & 8K0 907 289 X (où "X" ET "XX" désigner n'importe quel numéro de suffixe combinaison). Chaque partie doit être traitée dans un

Technical Background



^ After turning off the ignition, the key is only released from the switch after 200 ms. If the key is pulled immediately, it may be held in by the



ignition switch.



^ The solenoid valve is not completely open.

Not applicable.



Service



1. To release the key, another ignition cycle is necessary. (It is not necessary to start the engine.) Parts should not be replaced, and the switch



operation should be explained to the customer.



2. If the key cannot be released and there are no other related complaints, replace the ignition switch. Once the ignition switch is removed, the key



can be released as follows: Holding the switch in your right hand (looking at the key opening, part number pointing to the right), gently strike the



switch housing against your left hand. The key will be released.

1. Untersuchen GFF zu bestimmen, ob ein Fehler gespeichert ist, für Mikrofon-Betrieb-Adresse in Worte 56, 5F, 67 oder 77 je nach Fahrzeug und Ausstattung



Ebenen.2. Wenn ein Fehler gespeichert ist in GFF, fahren Sie mit dem test-plan in der scan-tool. Wenn es kein DTC gespeichert, gehen Sie zu Schritt 3.



3. Eine Nachprüfung der Beanstandung durch die Verwendung einer der folgenden Methoden:

5. Überprüfen Sie die Mikrofone für elektrische defekte:



ein. Trennen Sie die Mikrofone, und überprüfen Sie die Spannung aus dem Modul 8V +/- 10%.



b. Trennen Sie das Mikrofon-Kabel an der control-Modul und stellen Sie sicher, dass die Spannung auf die Verkabelung der Mikrofone ist 0V.



c. Wenn Spannung vorhanden ist, im Schritt ein. und Schritt b,., überprüfen Sie dann die Verkabelung für kurze Hosen.d.... Wenn die Spannung nicht vorhanden ist, in jedem Fall, oder die falsche Spannung gemessen wurde, in Schritt, a., überprüfen Sie das Steuermodul für die korrekte Ausgabe



Spannung am Modul und ersetzen Sie Sie, wenn nötig.



e. Wenn sowohl Schritt ein. Schritt b ist. waren OK, dann ersetzen Sie die Mikrofone.

Technical Background



Vehicles are designed to prevent water from entering the interior cabin from the outside. To ensure a secure installation of interior components (trim



and accessory pieces), holes for fasteners are strategically placed in interior surfaces. During application of window tint film, water may enter



interior areas through these openings, damaging electrical components located near window glass. Electrical components in these areas must be



removed or protected during application of window tint film.



Production Solution

Service



1. If you encounter a vehicle with a defective control module located in the area around or below windows which are tinted, check if the failure



occurred shortly after the window tint was installed.



2. Inspect the control module and wiring connections for signs of water damage.



3. Also, inform any vendors with which your Dealership may conduct business about the content of this bulletin.

Affected Vehicles



Condition



^ Air conditioning is inoperative.



^ The HVAC blower functions normally.



^ Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off.



Technical Background



^ The A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor G395 leaks refrigerant. This causes Sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading



MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate.



^ The LIN cable connecting the J519 Central Electrics Control unit to Sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and



Cabriolet, and Audi Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure.



^ The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged.



Tip: Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519. Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519 transfers the



information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to Climate Control Module J255.



Production Solution



An improved A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor G395 was introduced into series production and the wiring manufacturers processes were optimized.



Service



For A4/S4 (8K), A5/S5 Coupe/Cabriolet (8T/8F), Audi Q5, A6, A8:



If DTCs are stored in the J255 Climate Control Module for the G395 pressure sensor, then check the system pressures and refrigerant volume.



^ If system pressures and refrigerant volume are low, check for refrigerant leaks at G395. If a leak is found, then replace the G395.



^ If the system pressure and refrigerant volume are correct, perform guided fault finding. If an implausible pressure value is found in MVB



1, field 4, then replace G395.



Tip: Install only the improved G395. See part numbers in Required Parts and Tools.

DTC 00256 (A/C Pressure/temperature Sensor -G395- No signal/communication) in Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519, address

If all DTCs (a, b, c, d) are stored, only perform step 7.



Tip: The existing LIN cable connecting the J519 Vehicle Electrical System Control module to the G395 Pressure Sensor could be pinched or



cut if DTCs a, b, d are stored.



2. Check the LIN cable connecting the J519 Central Electrics Control unit to the G395 pressure sensor according to guided fault finding.



3. Check the wire terminals in the connector at the G395 pressure sensor for proper attachment, possible corrosion, and for any pins that may be



pushed back or widened.



4. Check to make sure there is proper voltage going to the sensor and verify the ground is not intermittently open (wiggle test).



5. Check the integrity of the wire harness.



There are two known sections in the wiring harness that can be affected, but the potentially affected areas are not limited to these two known



sections. One of the known sections is in the drivers footwell area where the wire harness enters the interior of the car from the engine bay



(Figure 1).



The second known section is in the wire harness located under the drivers side headlight (Figure 2).

6. If a cut wire is found, install an overlay wire for the LIN bus signal. Do not attempt to repair the existing wire harness.



a. Route the new LIN bus wire from the power system control unit J519 to the sender for refrigerant pressure/temperature G395 so that it



enters the interior of the vehicle through the drivers side fender/lower A-pillar area through the grommet indicated in Figures 3 and 5.



Tip: Do not route the wire through the same opening used by the existing wire harness.



Tip: The LIN bus between J519 and G395 may contain a junction point shared with other modules depending on the vehicle. Ensure to



maintain the junction points when routing the overlay.



On vehicles with a charisma switch (ride selection switch located on the instrument panel) route the new cable of the sender for refrigerant



pressure/temperature G395 to junction B549 as indicated by the red arrow in Figure 4.

b. Seal off the opening around the wire with Butyl sealant to prevent water intrusion.



7. Replace the sender for refrigerant pressure/temperature G395.

When changing the oil filter and installing the new filter seal(s) in the oil filter housing, special attention is required.



Note:



Be aware that this seal can be installed inside-out, which must be avoided to prevent oil leaks.



1. Before installing new oil seal(s), remove old seal(s) and ensure that the filter cover seal groove is clear of any debris.



2. Lubricate the surface of the new seal (Figure 1). Do not use any sharp tool to install the gasket.



3. Install the seal with the convex surface of the seal (Figure 1, white arrow) facing out and the flat surface of the seal with the vertical slot (Figure



1, black arrow) in. The "half-moon" tab (Figure 1, blue arrow) must be visible when the seal is installed in the groove.



3.0T and 3.2FSI engines only:

1. An additional O-Ring (Figure 2, B) is used in the 3.2 FSI oil filter housing. Place the O-Ring (Figure 2, B) in the groove of the oil filter bracket



before installing the oil filter housing.



2. After properly inserting the new cartridge into the housing, torque the assembly to 25Nm.
