The iPod or the USB memory stick is not recognized, or the iPod is not charged when either unit is connected to the Audi Music Interface (AMI).



Technical Background



One of the following may apply:



^ iPod and adapter cable are connected in the wrong order.



^ The adapter cable cannot be connected to the port because the port is not correctly seated in the glove box housing.



^ The wiring harness for AMI between the MMI control unit (5F) and the port connection for the adapter cable is damaged.



Production Solution



Not applicable.



Service



1. Disconnect the iPod and adapter cable.



a. Connect the adapter cable to the port connection in the glove box housing. Adapter cable should click into place. If not, go to Step 2.



b. Connect the iPod to the adapter cable.



c. If the iPod is recognized, explain the connection procedure to the customer.

d. The connection process does not apply to the USB memory stick.



2. Reinstall the port connector in the glove compartment housing.



a. Connect the adapter cable to the port connection.



b. Connect the iPod or USB memory stick.



3. Retest with a known good USB memory stick, iPod, and adapter cable.



4. If the complaint is not resolved with steps 1 - 3, check the AMI wiring harness for continuity and shorts.



Replace if necessary.



The original wiring harness may remain in the vehicle, but it must be protected from rattling against other components.

Technical Background



All Systems on Audi vehicles are engineered to work together using the factory calibrations which have countless hours of validation and testing



prior to being released for sale. The Audi warranty coverage is based on the results of developing the vehicle under the factory calibration. A



customer's vehicle may be equipped with unauthorized hardware or software tuning. Modifying the vehicle via unauthorized and unproven tuning



can put additional stress on vehicle components outside of intended design limits. These modifications can cause damage and additional wear to



vehicle components, subsequently voiding or reducing coverage of the factory powertrain warranty.



Engine tuning ("chipping", flashing", or piggie back" devices) can modify air/fuel ratios, spark settings and timing advance, knock detection,



manifold boost pressure (when applicable), maximum permissible engine speed, maximum permissible vehicle speed, and other performance



parameters. These changes degrade factory programmed safeguards protecting the powertrain against low quality/low octane fuel, high load



operation under high temperatures, high elevation operation, engine torque management, and more. These changes can also have a negative impact



on vehicle emissions which and may be in violation of state and/or federal law. The alteration of these powertrain component protection parameters



increases the likelihood of powertrain wear and/or damage. Unauthorized powertrain modification can also induce drivability issues and DTCs



which cannot be repaired other than returning vehicle to OEM factory stock configuration.

Audi's current dealership level diagnostic equipment allows for automatic detection of unauthorized ECM tuning on many current vehicle models.



Every new model year will bring more vehicles which will automatically be detected; this detection runs automatically in the background of the



normal diagnostic process, and will be completely transparent to the technician working on the vehicle.



If an unauthorized ECM calibration is detected, a "TD1" code will automatically be populated within the Warranty Key section of ELSA web. Not



every tuned vehicle will be detected automatically; however, selected vehicles can be checked for unauthorized ECM software by performing a



Specified vs. Actual ECM Software comparison. This warranty code cannot be manually added or removed.

If the either TCM fault P0750 (Shift Solenoid A Malfunction) or P1742 (Clutch torque adaptation, adaptation limit reached) are stored, check the



TCM software per the software table below.



^ If necessary, update the transmission control module per the software table below and adapt the forward and reverse clutches.



Tip: If the adaptation is not possible in Guided Fault Finding due to a missing engine speed error, instructions for adapting the OAW clutches with



self-diagnosis are below.



^ If the software is already at the newer version or higher, open a TAC ticket and call the Technical Assistance Center for assistance.



SVM Update Instructions



1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.



2. Update the transmission control unit (217) and the engine control unit using the SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.



3. After the SVM update, the programmed values of the clutches must be reset as follows:



a. In Guided Functions, select Transmission Electronics >> Adjustment.



After starting this function, the following question appears: Have you replaced the control unit for the automatic gearbox?"



b. Answer Yes.



Now the entry can be deleted and the adaptation of the clutches carried out.



4. Attempt the GFF clutch adaptation test plan. If the test plan fails to adapt the clutches, perform the 0AW Self-Diagnosis Clutch Adaptation



Instructions below.



0AW Self-Diagnosis Clutch Adaptation Instructions



Select the following measured values in the self-diagnosis and possibly save them under Favorites:



^ Adaptation of the forwards start-up behavior [LO] State



^ Adaptation of the backwards start-up behavior [LO] State



^ Transmission fluid temperature



^ Specified clutch torque



Creep adaptation of the forward and reverse clutch with 0AW gearboxes:



1. Make sure that there are no fault entries in the TCM.



2. Warm up the gearbox to about 85锟斤拷C, ideally by pulling away in driving mode D and R at various loads of max 1500 rpm.



Tip: Currently the adaptation is only possible when the measured value transmission temperature is between 80锟斤拷 - 95锟斤拷C.



3. When the vehicle is standing still, select driving mode D.



4. Pull away with little acceleration to about 6 mph or 10 km/h. Slowly brake the vehicle with the foot brake. Hold the brake pedal for another 5-10



seconds as the vehicle stands still.



5. When stopping, the specified clutch torque must not drop below 20 Nm, otherwise the adaptation fails. If this is the case, change the driving



profile (less load, gentler braking).

6. Repeat step 4 until the measured value indicates the adaptation of the forwards start-up behavior is successfully completed.



7. With the vehicle standing still, select driving mode R.



8. Repeat step 4 until the measured value indicates adaptation of the backwards start-up behavior is successful completed.



When stopping, the specified clutch torque must not drop below 20 Nm, otherwise the adaptation fails. If this is the case, change the driving profile.



9. After a terminal 15 reset, the adaptation starts over again with status running. Keep the ignition switched on for at least six minutes after a



successful adaptation.



TIP: The ignition must not be switched off during this time period.

À l'aide de 3M(TM) en Verre de pâte à Polir:



1. Bien agiter le flacon pour mélanger le produit uniformément.



2. Appliquer le nettoyant directement sur l'extérieur du pare-brise, sur les deux côté passager et côté conducteur.

3. Utilisez un chiffon propre, sec chiffon en microfibre (comme 3M(TM) Perfect-It(TM)III Auto Détaillant de Tissu Jaune).Vigoureusement nettoyer le pare-brise avec de longues lignes horizontales.



Essayez d'éviter d'appliquer le produit à la fenêtre de la garniture.



4. Laisser sécher jusqu'à ce qu'une fine couche de film (haze).



Astuce: le temps de Séchage est basée sur la température ambiante. Les températures de 15��C ou inférieure peut s'étendre drytime.

Squeaking or creaking noises from the rear of the vehicle interior. Specifically, the noises come from the area where the convertible top compartment



cover comes in contact with the rear seat backrest and seat belt guidance element (Figures 1 and 2).



TECHNICAL BACKGROUND



When driving on uneven roads, squeaking or creaking noises arise from these points of contact. This condition is exhibited with the convertible top



either open or closed.

Improved buffers to isolate points of contact.

1. Install stop buffers (part number 893 837 739 A) on the trim of the left and right rollover bar. Attach the self-adhesive stop buffers as shown in



Figure 3.

2. After attaching the stop buffers, check the position of the adjustable center buffer located on the convertible top compartment cover. The total



extended length of the center buffer from base to tip is 21 mm (Figure 5).



3. Check whether this center buffer makes contact with the beam below it when the cover is closed (Figure 6).



^ Fold down the two rear seat backrests if necessary to make the adjustment. A slight readjustment may be necessary to establish contact.



^ Ensure the pressure is not excessive.



Note:



^ The adjustable center buffer is only for the support. Excessive pressure from this buffer will distort the cover.

Condition



This RVU has been proactively released to update the gearbox software to the latest level.



This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until December 30, 2012. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.



Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:



^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 37F3 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.



^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.



^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.



^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.



Technical Background



A newer level of the gearbox software is available.

1. On MY 2009 vehicles: Before performing this update, please inform the customer that after the update the gear (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6) will no longer



be displayed in the driver information display (Figure 1) while in Drive "D" or Sport "S."

After the update, the selected gear will still be displayed when the selector lever is placed in the Tiptronic position.



Tip:



This update is not reversible.



If the customer refuses repair, fax Repair Order as indicated on SAGA Claim Entry Procedure.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND



As the sump pan gasket settles, the torque of the bolts decreases and the seal may leak.

For transmissions 01V and 01L: No change.



For transmissions 09E and 09L, a rubber metal sump pan seal from:

2. Clean the sump pan and the transmission housing with brake cleaner spray.



3. Test drive the vehicle and inspect the sump pan gasket for leaks. A moist seal is normal.

Одно из следующих условий присутствует:



^ Насос ож протекает хладоагент.



Перегрев двигателя ^ без утечки хладоагента.



ТЕХНИЧЕСКОЕ ОБРАЗОВАНИЕ



Замените обе части во время такого же ремонта.



ПРОИЗВОДСТВЕННОЕ РЕШЕНИЕУлучшенный насос и термостат хладоагента.



Обслуживание



Условие: Протекая водяная помпа



1. Замените насос охлаждающей жидкости. (Выполните Шаг 3 ниже.)



2. Проверьте историю обслуживания. Определить, был ли заменен термостат № детали 06E 121 111 AD при предыдущем ремонте.



^ Если нет, выполните Шаг 1 ниже. (Замените термостат.)



^ Если да, замените только Водяной насос.



Условие: двигатель перегревая ( отсутствие утечки водяной помпы) - отказ термостата



Выполните все действия ниже.



1. Заменить термостат (Рисунок 1). (См. Руководство по ремонту > > механика > > Rep. Gr 19 Снятие и установка термостата охлаждающей жидкости.2. Проверьте, имеет ли охлаждающий насос (Рисунок 2) пластиковый корпус.

3. Если корпус насоса системы охлаждения пластиковый, также замените насос системы охлаждения. (См. Руководство по ремонту > > 6-цилиндровый двигатель прямого впрыска бензина, механика



> > Rep. Gr 19 > > Снятие и установка насоса системы охлаждения.)



Согласно инструкции по ремонту, соберите хладоагент в чистом контейнере и повторно используйте хладоагент во время ремонта. Используйте только новый хладоагент для того чтобы покрыть систему.
