Supersedes Technical DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR Group 47 number 10-01 dated July 15, 2010 for reasons listed below.

Vehicle Information

Condition

^ "Muh" sound or moaning noise coming from the front brakes (FNRG) in the following conditions:

^ Slowly pulling away after a stop.

^ While turning at low speeds.

^ The performance of the brakes is not compromised.

Technical Background

The pistons in the calipers in certain vehicles may not retract far enough, which may leave contact between the rotor and pad. This contact may cause

a "muh" sound or moaning noise in low speed conditions.

Production Solution

New caliper piston seals have been developed to allow the pistons to retract further.
