CONDITION
^ Customer may report the following conditions:
^ In Coming Home mode, the right LED daytime running light is sporadically inoperative. The daytime running lights and fog lights operate
correctly while driving.
Tip: Coming Home mode is a convenience function that allows the front lights (headlights or daytime running lights) and taillights to remain on for
a defined time (up to 60 seconds) when exiting the car.
^ The front fog lights and the left daytime running light work correctly.
^ DTC 02746/007 [Right Daytime Running Light (DRL) Lamp, Short circuit to ground] is stored in Vehicle Electrical System Control Module
J519.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Because of different current cycles between the left and right headlamps in the first 100us after activating the coming home function, the right
daytime running light is switched off.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Improved vehicle electrical system control module installed from CW27/2010.
SERVICE
Do not replace either headlamp for the concern described in this TSB, as this will not correct the concern. The J519 module cannot be updated and
must be replaced.
1. Replace J519 with one of the following updated versions, depending on factory equipment. Please reference ETKA for the correct part number.
4F0 910 279 AG: Vehicles equipped with power adjustable steering column (PR Code 2C7)
4F0 910 279 AH: Vehicles equipped with manually adjustable steering column (PR Code 2C5)
Tip: When adapting the daytime running lamps on the replacement module, leave the default setting to Off. Changing this setting can result in static
DTCs (01494 and 01498) in J519.
