Sir Chris Hoy Back To British GT In Two Races With Ford WEC Drivers

Sir Chris Hoy will return to British GT and team up with Ford World Endurance Championship drivers in the Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 at Spa and Donington Park. Hoy will line up alongside three-time World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx at Spa and American Billy Johnson at Donington Park. The six-time Olympic champion won the European Le Mans Series LMP3 title in 2015, a year after graduating from British GT following a season driving an RJN-run Nissan GT-R GT3. His best result that year was a second-place finish at Spa. Hoy recently took part in the World Rallycross Championship's Barcelona round, and drove a Formula E demo car ahead of the Rome E-Prix. At Spa, Factory Ford WEC driver Priaulx will race against his son Seb, who scored the Mustang's maiden series victory at Oulton Park earlier this year alongside Scott Maxwell. Priaulx, who will be making his British GT debut, last appeared in a domestic championship in 2015, when he won two British Touring Car Championship races in a West Surrey Racing BMW 125i M Sport.

The biggest moment in the Ford Mustang's history is about to take place. The Mustang is going electric. The Mustang is getting four doors. And the Mustang is going to be a crossover SUV. These aren't three different vehicles. This is one single vehicle, and it's called the Mustang Mach-E. After years of rumors, months of teasers, and a slow-drip of details Ford's new battery-electric crossover, it's finally set to be unveiled later today in Los Angeles. Ford will provide live coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. For those on the East cost, drink a 5-Hour Energy because things won't kick off until 9:00 p.m. After the reveal is over at approximately 6:30 p.m. Ford will begin taking reservations for the Mach-E online. What do we expect to see? The Mach-E will be a four-door crossover with a Pony on the front and rear, Mustang-like LED head and taillights, and a fast roofline. The interior should be a mix of retro Mustang cues with a modern twist. The cabin will likely be full of technology with a digital gauge cluster, large touchscreen for vehicle controls and infotainment system, and seating for four or five adults. Ford's said the Mach-E will have up to 300 miles of driving range (an elusive figure that Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar can't seem to catch Tesla on), rear- or all-wheel drive, and a performance slant to it. It's likely there will be performance options and upgrades, and the 300-mile range will need to be EPA-rated in the end, considering the U.S. All of the wondering ends and questions will be answered once the sheet drops and the Mustang Mach-E comes fully into view. Grab a bowl of popcorn because the Mustang is story is about to take a major turn.

The Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a performance-oriented option package of the Ford Mustang, originally introduced by Ford in August 1968 as a package for the 1969 model year. As part of a Ford heritage program, the Mach 1 package returned in 2003 as a high performance version of the New Edge platform. Visual connections to the 1969 model were integrated into the design to pay homage to the original. This generation of the Mach 1 was discontinued after the 2004 model year, with the introduction of the fifth generation Mustang. Ford first used the name "Mach 1" in its 1969 display of a concept called the "Levacar Mach I" at the Ford Rotunda. This concept vehicle used a cushion of air as propulsion on a circular dais. The Mach 1 package was only available in the 'SportsRoof' body style (previously known as the Fastback); never on the hardtop or convertible. Many resto-mod visual conversions have since been performed by owners and enthusiasts, but are not Mach 1's by VIN code. This beautiful 1970 Mustang is a true Mach 1 that has undergone a complete rotisserie restoration with no expenses spared. The build was fully documented and comes with a box full of receipts and photo album of the build, as well as a hard drive containing all pictures before, during and after the build. 鈥?Custom build completed in 2014 by American Collector Specialties. During Ford鈥檚 press conference in Detroit last night, Ford promised a hybrid F-150 would become a thing in the near future, as well as a high-performance fully electric vehicle wearing the Mach 1 name. Nothing was shown during the conference about said vehicle. During the presentation, Ford claimed the Mach 1 would be derived on the Mustang, which has always been the case for the nameplate. However, after the conference, Ford changed its mind through a Tweet from Mike Levine, Ford USA鈥檚 media representative, by stating the vehicle in question would be an SUV. Also: The Ford Mustang Bullitt is Back! Is that all the news? Heck no. High performance battery electric SUV coming soon! Ford has been teasing us for a while about a potential hybrid Mustang, so we were all sure the Mach 1 would be it. When Ford鈥檚 Vice-president Raj Nair was interrogated about it, he simply said that a Mustang-inspired utility vehicle will most likely come out of Team Edison shortly. Team Edison is Ford鈥檚 electric car division. According to Nair, since the Mach 1 will be fully electric, it will be built on its own dedicated platform, not sharing any components with the Mustang. The last time we saw the Mach 1 name appear on a Ford, it was back in 2004. In the past, that name was only grafted on the most powerful Mustangs of their time. Whatever this new vehicle will be, let鈥檚 just hope it will remain faithful to the Mach 1 legend.
