60,000 for 240 miles. 40,000 cars have that big of a battery pack. Ford is willing to loose to competing with Tesla. I don't like SUVs, but I like the front styling of this thing. Still kindof visually reads as a front grille, without being a big ugly fake add-on. Definitely one of the better takes on an EV nose, in my opinion. That isnt fords design but the magazines guess. 40000 is bold for 2020 considering it's not made in China or India. Tesla will smash this thing. Range. Charging speed. Supercharger network. Acceleration. Battery lifespan and reliability. Weight. Self-driving. Over the air updates. Some Americans will prefer the interior and exterior styling of the Ford. This needs to be amazing to compete and I鈥檓 doubtful. Where are the batteries from? Ford are looking precarious. Tesla isn't the only mfg doing over the air updates fyi. All my new cars have done it for the last like 4 years. Audi, GM, etc.. My Denali truck updates when it hits wifi at home. Not a bad looking car.
I want to go on record saying holy smokes so many comments and none that says "Ford wtf is this shit?" that's not mustang inspired that's a hideous SUV with a slapped on Mustang sign. That filthy car doesn't deserve such a badge. Don't get me wrong I like that they are finally making a real dedicated Electric car. No comments on that because that's the magazine's render. Nothing official from Ford. Not good enough. When you want to actually sell a car, you make it look sexy. Ford needs to make a huge, ludicrously powerful pickup, and a new, electric mustang with an insane amount of power. Then people will be interested in their electric SUV/crossover. Similar to the purpose of the tesla roadster. Wouldn't it make sense to call their Electric pickup the E-150? Ford has defield the Mustang brand for far too long. First the pinto's next the 90's shit show, now this garbage! Another minivan labeled an SUV.

Ford's SVT performance division created the new Shelby under Hau Thai-Tang, formerly lead designer for the '05 Mustang. Though Ford is still tweaking specifications, that 450 hp should be the minimum on tap, matched by at least 450 lb-ft of torque. It's supplied by basically the same supercharged 5.4-liter V8 used in the exotic mid-engine Ford GT. The concept GT500 carried a beefed-up 6-speed manual transmission, but a heavy-duty automatic may also be available by sale time. Springs and shock absorbers are uprated, but the chassis is basically stock Mustang GT--which means a live rear axle instead of the independent rear suspension enthusiasts favor. Ford makes no apologies, saying it works just as well and lightens both the car and its price tag. To handle its thumping power, the GT500 gets uprated disc brakes with 14-inch cross-drilled rotors in front and 13s in back. Curb weight is pegged at about 3600 pounds, about 200 up on a regular Mustang GT coupe.
