Over the past few months with the celebration of the 50th birthday of Ford's famous pony car, we've seen all types of wild Stangs come through our doors. The most recent addition, this amazing 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 fastback, is a perfect example of where the market is heading. Packing a period correct 351 Windsor, and covered in a rare Ford paint color, this Mustang is set to provide years of enjoyment for a lucky buyer. If hitting the highway in a rare version of one of Detroit's finest muscle cars sounds like your idea of good vibes and great times, this killer Mach 1 is your steal of the century! Originally leaving the Dearborn, Michigan plant on February 8th of 1969, today it sits covered in a fresh correct coat of Y-code Indian Fire Red. That paint coats fit and finish puts factory-original cars to shame. That fit and finish is augmented by a slick combination of satin surfaces and reflective decals which highlights traditional Mach 1 markings. And to ensure this pony stands out from the herd, everything was buffed to a show-stopping shine!

And you can certainly rest assured that the solid and wave-less panels on this pony are centered in gaps that are much tighter than the day it rolled off the assembly line. It should come as no surprise that, visually, this Mach 1 one of the most striking Mustangs we've ever seen. A masterful restoration is all about the details both on the surface and below the surface. At the front of this razor-sharp coupe, chrome-trimmed low beam headlights and grille-mounted high beam headlights combine with a thin chrome bumper and ridged front fenders to provide a fierce, aggressive face. Between those fenders, a modest hood scoop visually complements traditional rear window louvers while great looking stainless trim combines with bright chrome drip rails, familiar silver wipers and body-matched racing mirrors to frame like-new glass. Below those mirrors, correct chrome door handles combine with a polished antenna, dent-free stainless fender trim and small, square marker lights to add detail to the car's sinister mug shot.

Deep-set quarter scoops lead the eye to a concave rear valence which hangs a detailed fuel filler and segmented tail lights above a second chrome bumper, chrome-trimmed reverse lights and subtle stainless exhaust tips. Under this tried and true Ford's blacked-out hood you'll find a correct 351 cubic inch Windsor V8. As one of the most popular small blocks ever created, the venerable 351W is covered in the famous FoMoCo blue and looks fantastic slammed in the flat black engine bay. At the top of the engine, a big 4-barrel carburetor rides under a correct single-snorkel air cleaner that wears fresh paint and new 351-4v decals. Below that carburetor, a cast iron intake anchors a traditional points distributor between fresh 鈥淧ower By Ford鈥?valve covers. Below, free breathing headers funnel spent gases into true-dual pipes while a re-cored radiator cycles water through pliable hoses and updated clamps. All the motor's correct decals and auxiliary components are accounted for and thanks to pieces like the reproduction Delco battery, the overall look of the engine bay is incredible.

The bottom of this awesome time appears to have barely seen if any all-weather road trips. Open the door to this awesome Mustang and you'll find a fully restored cockpit which mixes the best elements of Ford's black vinyl interior with bright, body-matched accents. At the center of the car, vinyl bucket seats are accented by Indian Fire Red that are equipped with new lap belts and new chrome hardware. In front of those seats, a dual cowl dash hangs bright wood applique around a full assortment of rebuilt gauges, chrome knobs for the car's factory air conditioning and radio. Below that dash, a stylish console props a traditional chrome T-handle shifter in front of more fade-free wood applique and a black factory armrest. Below that console, new black carpet is protected by sturdy rubber floor mats. And at the sides of that carpet, stylish door panels hang pristine stainless trim, new chrome handles and more great looking wood applique. In front of the driver, an impressive three spoke steering wheel, that houses the famous mustang logo, spins an authentic wood rim. The sale of this immaculate Mach 1 includes the original owner's manual. There's simply nothing like keying up a legendary muscle car. The sound, the feeling of the idle, and the relentless surge of torque as you power through the gears. It's very rare to find a well-executed restoration which carries a very reasonable asking price, but this Mustang is exactly that. And if you're looking for a highly desirable classic that'll provide years of weekend fun, and rack up more than its fair share of fans in the process, this is your kind of car!
