Complaint:
After replacement of the Comand (A40/3) or Audio 50 APS (A2/56), the message "Theft protection active" appears on the display. Initial startup
was completed successfully with DAS / Xentry Diagnostics. In addition, the "Unlock radio" step was performed under menu item "Control unit
adaptations" with DAS / Xentry Diagnostics.
Cause:
There is a hardware fault in the EZS (N73). The part numbers from EZS (N73) A164 545 15 08 and A164 545 16 08 are affected. These two EZS
variants (N73) are not compatible with the theft protection function in the Audio 50 (A2/56) or Comand (A40/3).
Remedy:
Replace EZS (N73). Determine part number in EPC.
Note:
When an Audio 50 APS (A2/56) or Comand APS (A40/3) with PIN theft, protection is installed in a vehicle, the PIN code of the newly installed
COMAND/Audio 50 must be documented in the VeDoc system. Pay attention to the relevant information during initial startup with DAS / Xentry
Diagnostic.
Note:
Carry out the initial startup process/SCN coding completely so that the PIN code can be loaded correctly on the head unit other wise the head unit
will stop working after 50 ignition cycles.
