Model 204, Model Years 2010 - 2011
Software Calibration Number (SCN) Code - Rear SAM
Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the rear SAM may not have been coded to specification. A
Software Calibration Number (SCN) update to the rear SAM must be installed in the affected vehicles to correct this condition. Dealers will re-code
the Software Calibration Number (SCN) - rear SAM at the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 6 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
Note:
^ Use Xentry 01-02/11 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in Xentry.
^ Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).
1. Connect Star Diagnosis to vehicle.
2. Perform SCN coding in rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (SAM-Rear):
Control units / Rear SAM - Rear signal acquisition and actuation module (N10/2)/Adaptations / Control unit programming / SCN coding / Follow
on-screen instructions.
Note:
^ Please be aware that only the part number(s) referenced in the Campaign Bulletin is/are approved for use to repair the vehicle. Repairs performed
using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to
an improper part number(s) will be denied.
^ The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
