Reason for change
Complaint:
The electric folding outside mirror makes noises (whistling noise / meow noise) after reaching the end position.
Cause:
Electric motor continues to be energized after reaching end position.
This can cause audible vibrations in the folding motor (whistling/meow noise)
Remedy:
Retrofitting of a stall current module in the problem mirror:
Note:
Figure 2 shows the stall current module already installed in the cable set of the outside mirror
^ Remove service flap in door lining
^ Unplug connector of outside mirror from door control unit
^ Unlock connector (A) using a screwdriver (1) and pull off white cover (B) (2) => see Figure 1
^ Connections to be made => see Figure 1
^ Unpin pin 4 of connector (A) and connect to slot 2 of the enclosed coupling (C)
^ Unpin pin 5 of connector (A) and connect to slot 1 of the enclosed coupling (C)
^ Connect blue cable of stall current module (D) to slot 4 of connector (A)
^ Connect white/blue cable of stall current module (D) to slot 5 of connector (A)
^ Connect coupling (C) with connector (E) of stall current module (D) and fit white cover (B) on connector (A)
^ Finished assembly, see Figure 2
^ Reconnect the connectors to the door control unit
^ Secure stall current module (D) with adhesive tape or a cable tie to prevent noise
^ Perform function test and then install service flap
