SUBJECT: Model 463, Model Year 2010

Replace Left Rear Window Regulator

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the drive

cable at the left rear door window lifter may not be to specifications and it is then possible for the cable to detach from its fastenings. Dealers will replace the left rear window regulator, at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 527 vehicles are affected.

Procedure

1. Replace window regulator, refer to WIS: AR72.12-P-1810GN.

Notes (regarding above WIS instructions):

^ Be careful not to damage the plastic inner door liner when removing.

^ Ensure that power window motor gear is properly aligned with window regulator gear when installing window motor to window regulator.

^ Check window for proper adjustment before reinstalling plastic inner door liner.

Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied.
