Reason for change

Complaint:

Noise when turning steering wheel

Cause:

Relative motion between the frame and the welded-in mounting plate. The friction can be felt by feeling the longitudinal frame member when turning

the steering wheel while stationary.

Remedy:

This complaint is no grounds for replacing the steering.

1.     Remove collision guard.

2.     Insert steel strip into frame opening and push in as far as mounting plate.

Diagram. Use steel strip of dimensions: 6x20x1200 mm (rolled).

3.     Separate assembly plate from frame panel with a firm blow with a hammer.

A distance of approx. 1 mm is sufficient.

4.     Preserve the cavity created.

Go as far as the contact point of the inserted steel strip.

5.     Install collision guard.
