Models 204.9, 207, 212, Model Years 2010 - 2011

Replace Cylinder Head

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the

cylinder head may not have been produced to specification.

Dealers will replace the left or right cylinder head (see chart) at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 15 vehicles are affected.

Procedure

1. Based on chart included above, replace cylinder head as indicated. Refer to applicable WIS documents in the following next steps.

2. For model 212:

^ Left cylinder head, refer to WIS: AR01.30-P-5770EW.

^ Right cylinder head, refer to WIS AR01.30-P-5780EW

3. For models 204.9 and 207:

^ Left cylinder head, refer to WIS: AR01.30-P-5770CV.

^ Right cylinder head, refer to WIS: AR01.30-P-5780CV.

Notes (regarding above WIS documents):

^ Replacement of engine belt is not included in this campaign.

^ Cleaning spray/gasket remover (e.g., Loctite(R) 7200) is shop supply.

Note:

^ Please be aware that only the part number(s) referenced in the Campaign Bulletin is/are approved for use to repair the vehicle. Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied.

^ The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
