Hello all! Here is a update on my G87 M2! I picked this car up in September of 2023. I set out to do a team schirmer/ring tool inspired build. Only a handful of things have changed, I got rid of the gold set of E88s for a slightly more aggressive spec & different finish, these are raw CNC over clear, I’ve really enjoyed the G87 platform so far.
I will leave a parts list below, Thanks to everyone involved with this build. Let me know if you have any questions!

Official Release: G90 M5 BMW M Performance Parts (Available at Launch)
Standout dynamics showcased in distinctive style: the BMW M Performance Parts for the all-new BMW M5.
24.07.2024 PRESS RELEASE
Munich. From the launch of the new BMW M5, the range of Original BMW Accessories will offer a wide variety of options designed to shine an even brighter spotlight on the dynamic character of the high-performance sedan (petrol and electric power consumption – weighted, combined: 1.7 – 1.6 l/100 km [166.2 – 176.6 mpg imp] and 25.5 – 25.0 kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle; CO2 emissions – weighted, combined: 39 – 37 g/km in the WLTP cycle; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10.3 – 10.2 l/100 km [27.4 – 27.7 mpg imp] in the WLTP cycle; CO2 classes: weighted, combined B, with discharged battery G). Model-specific BMW M Performance Parts allow owners to hone both the athletic looks of the latest BMW M model and, above all, its aerodynamic balance with genuine precision.
With its M HYBRID drive system, which produces maximum output of 535 kW/727 hp and peak system torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft), its bespoke chassis technology and the M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, the new BMW M5 offers a performance experience beyond anything else in its class. Its standout dynamic capability is complemented by a powerful, puristic exterior design. Like the M Carbon exterior package available ex-factory, a host of BMW M Performance Parts – also made from weight-saving, high-tech carbon fibre and available from the launch of the new BMW M5 – generate a rare and distinctive sporting allure.
Exterior components in carbon fibre accentuate the car’s dynamic lines and optimise its aerodynamic balance.
The expressive appearance of the new BMW M5 is shaped by its sculptural front apron and eye-catching BMW M kidney grille, as well as by prominently flared wheel arches and side skirts. The BMW M Performance Parts for the exterior fit neatly into the car’s geometry and design, and bring added emphasis to both the sedan’s dynamic lines and its powerful stature.
A highlight of the BMW M Performance Parts range for the new BMW M5 is the head-turning, two-section M Performance rear diffuser carbon fibre. It teams up with the M Performance tailpipe trims carbon fibre to bring a modern and extremely sporty look to the rear end of the high-performance sedan. The M Performance tailpipe trims are made from a titanium/carbon fibre mix. With their milled titanium end rings and embossed M5 logo, they create a suitably powerful and imposing proposition.
The M Performance rear diffuser carbon fibre is offered either as an addition to the rear spoiler included in the M Carbon exterior package or in conjunction with the M Performance rear spoiler pro carbon fibre also available as a retrofit option. This ensures precisely optimised air routing in extremely dynamic driving situations.
The M Performance front splitter carbon fibre further enhances the aerodynamic balance and visual impact of the new BMW M5. It too is available in tandem with either of the two rear spoiler variants. The two-section M Performance front splitter carbon fibre showcases the central lower air intake – which, for the first time, is split into two by a central partition – even more prominently.
Extremely wide tracks and a bespoke design for the side frame of the body give the new BMW M5 muscular proportions. The M Performance sill extensions carbon fibre lend additional emphasis to the athletic form of the car’s side view. They can be combined with the M exterior mirror caps carbon fibre to create a particularly cohesive overall impression. All of the carbon fibre attachment parts are meticulously hand-crafted from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) with a high-quality clear coat finish.
M-typical racing feeling and detail customisation.
The dynamic profile of the new BMW M5 can be further accentuated by the M Performance side decals in Frozen Black. These high-quality decals can withstand commercial car washes and again integrate seamlessly with the geometry of the M5. The M Performance aerial cover aramid – likewise constructed from an exclusive fibre composite material – brings a stylistic highlight to the car’s roof. Added to which, M Performance light-alloy wheels will be offered for the new BMW M5 from summer 2025.
The M Performance fuel tank cap carbon fibre extends the new high-performance sedan’s aura of exclusivity to a detail level and can be identified by its M Performance badging in brushed aluminium. The quartet of M Performance floor mats – each of which features decorative stitching in contrasting colours and M Performance badging – add further sporting touches to the interior. The M Performance tyre bags bring motor sport feeling to the customer’s garage, too. They are printed with a logo in BMW M GmbH colours and a graphic indicating the wheel position, and have a reinforced handle for easy transportation. The M Performance key case also makes a distinctive statement. The elegant, precisely fitting cover in black fine-grain nappa leather protects the owner’s car key against scratches and rounds off the BMW M Performance Parts line-up in stylish fashion.
The BMW M Performance Parts available for the new BMW M5 have been developed on the back of BMW M GmbH’s established motor-racing expertise and the experience it has garnered over more than five decades – and are designed precisely to fit the particular characteristics of the high-performance sports car. Plus, the retrofit products have been tested according to the BMW Group’s stringent quality guidelines and have already undergone homologation alongside the overall vehicle, which means separate registration with the vehicle licensing authorities is not required.

#1/1 G90 M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to be Live Auctioned for Charity
2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 to be Live Auctioned for Charity by Auction House Gooding & Company During Pebble Beach Automotive Week
- One-of-one 2025 BMW M5 is a collaboration between BMW M, BMW Individual, and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®.
- Unique interior and exterior finishes and details created exclusively for this special automobile.
- The first 2025 BMW M5 delivered in North America (estimated delivery October 2024).
- Proceeds above the vehicle’s MSRP will go to the Concours’ charitable partner, Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
- The vehicle will be auctioned by Gooding & Company on Friday, August 16.
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – July 23, 2024…The all-new seventh generation BMW M5 was revealed to the world earlier this month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. And now, to celebrate the arrival of the 717-hp M Hybrid-powered super sedan in the US, BMW M and BMW Individual in collaboration with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® have created a one-of-a-kind special automobile that will be auctioned during Pebble Beach Automotive Week. The 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 will be the first 2025 M5 delivered in North America, and is distinguished by exclusive paint and upholstery colors, wheels, and bespoke interior details that make this M5 entirely unique.
The 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 will be auctioned at no-reserve by Gooding & Company Friday, August 16. All proceeds above the vehicle’s MSRP will be donated to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation, a charity that supports literacy and education programs for disadvantaged young people in Monterey County.
The only 2025 BMW M5 finished in BMW Individual Frozen Orange metallic.
Taking inspiration from the spectacular orange hues of a Pebble Beach sunset, the BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 makes a strong first impression with its striking coat of BMW Individual Frozen Orange metallic paint. The stunning color was scheduled to be discontinued from BMW Plant Dingolfing prior to the start of M5 production, meaning the body of the Pebble Beach M5 had to be painted weeks in advance. This also ensured that no other 2025 M5 would be painted the same color.
The paint is complimented by hand-painted orange accents on the staggered M Dual-Spoke Bicolor wheels, Style 951M, mounted on performance tires. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels surround massive M Carbon Ceramic brakes with calipers finished in Matte Gold.
A dramatic interior package befitting such a distinctive vehicle.
The tech-forward, driver-oriented interior has been appointed in a completely unique color scheme. The M Multi-Function seats are finished in Kyalami Orange and Silverstone Extended Merino leather – a combination created specifically for the #1/1 and unavailable on the standard production M5. The headrests of both front seats are emblazoned with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® logo, using an innovative new printing technology, just above the illuminated M5 badge.
Carbon Fiber Silver Thread High Gloss trim with Dark Silver Accent spans the dashboard and is adorned with the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® logo just to the right of the BMW Curved Display, with “#1/1” leaving no doubt about this M5’s individuality. The logo and #1/1 inscription are also present on the front doorsills.
In total, the 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 is fitted with over $57,000 worth of bespoke options. Much of the finishing was done by hand at the M works in Garching, the spiritual home of the M5 where the first two generations were largely hand-built.
Premium features and technology for the everyday drive.
The 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 will spoil the winning bidder with a full complement of performance, luxury, and infotainment features.
The Driving Assistance Professional Package permits the Lane Keeping Assistant with Side Collision Protection and Distance Control to be used when travelling at highway speeds. At lower speeds up to 40 mph, the Traffic Jam Assistant can provide attentive, unlimited hands-free driving to ease the strain of especially dense traffic situations on limited access highways.
The Executive Package brings illumination to the kidney grille, a power rear sunshade and manual rear side window shades, front ventilated seats, and Parking Assistant Plus. The Carbon Package includes a CFRP roof panel, rear spoiler, and mirror caps. And M Drive Professional adds two additional, track-oriented driving modes – DYNAMIC and DYNAMIC PLUS – designed to ensure the combustion engine and electric motor are both active and the cooling system is conditioned for track driving.
Finally, the M Driver’s Package raises the M5’s top speed to 190 mph and includes a 1-day high-performance driving class at a BMW Performance Center.

..::PSI::.. – Walking Around the BMW G90 M5 @ Goodwood FOS
The G90 M5 is the seventh generation of BMWs M5 lineup. Following the highly popular F90 M5, the G90 garnered much speculation leading up to its grand reveal, only to remain controversial after its launch. This G90 M5 platform is the most powerful and heaviest M5 released so far, with a disclosed curb weight of 7,396 lbs and power output of 727 hp with 738 lb-ft of torque. Despite these impressive figures, the G90 is slower than its predecessor, taking 0.2 seconds longer to go from 0-60 mph. With the M5 touring soon to be released at Monterey car week, we are interested to start planning our routes for the next #builtbypsi car!

Breaking: BMW Neue Klasse Coupe EV Prototype Spied!
Our spy photographer snapped a stunning surprise prototype from BMW, showing us a new EV Coupe with what appears to hub motors and a striking, modern, wedge design. A tradesman working at an obscure landing strip first spotted the disguised coupe, and word leaked to our shooter, who snagged these revealing shots of BMW’s exciting future.
Heres details & report from a German correspondent:
BMW Neue Klasse Coupé
The Neue Klasse from BMW will completely reposition and revolutionise the brand. The new architecture will gradually permeate all model generations at BMW, but will also offer completely new possibilities as we can see in these latest spy shots. So far we know two models of the BMW Neue Klasse as studies, namely the SUV and the Sedan. The Neue Klasse SUV from BMW has already been spotted several times as a prototype and is the first model in development on public roads. The Neue Klasse Sedan has not yet been spotted as a prototype and has only been shown as a Vision Neue Klasse in the form of a study.
Prototypes first roll-out
Completely unexpected and brand new, another Neue Klasse model is now coming into the spotlight in front of our camera, namely a prototype in the form of a Neue Klasse Coupé with a very futuristic design. The prototype had its rollout this week and was caught on camera. At first glance, the BMW Neue Klasse Coupé looks like a futuristic Buggy/Crossover with very long doors and a possible large glass dome above the passenger compartment. But if you take a closer look, you can clearly recognize the face of the Neue Klasse at the front. Even if the headlights and the illuminated kidney grille are still camouflaged, the BMW front is unmistakable. The BMW Neue Klasse Coupé shows design features and proportions of the Vision Neue Klasse study. It appears to be a sporty coupé with flat lines and short overhangs. The missing door handles on this prototype are also interesting, as they are replaced by a door opener in the form of a black surface with touch function at the height of the window line on the B-pillar. BMW is taking a big step towards the future with this model. Whether this is a small-series model like the BMW i8 is highly conceivable.
New drive technology with wheel hub motors
The drive technology of this prototype is completely new, as this is the first BMW model with four wheel hub motors. Due to the lack of brake calipers, the silver wheel hub motors are clearly visible behind the black wheel rim. Just last year, BMW invested in this technology with a Munich-based start-up called DeepDrive and began a partnership. DeepDrive intends to be able to offer its wheel hub motor technology in large-scale production from 2026 at the earliest. This drive technology should allow for a higher torque and power density, resulting in efficiency gains of between 20 and 40%.
It remains to be seen whether wheel hub motors of this size will be able to deliver enough power for a future all-electric BMW M model with an output of around 1,360 hp, but this is probably not possible. BMW has been testing a purely electric BMW i4 M as a prototype for several years, in which four electric motors have been mentioned from the outset. Until now, there has never been any talk of wheel hub motors, as the prototypes had clearly visible brake discs with brake calipers and no wheel hub motors. Nevertheless, BMW has communicated a lot in recent years about the future technology and the possible introduction of a model with four electric motors, but there has never been any talk about the design. Quite the opposite, as a production version of the BMW i4 as a pure M model was always denied.
Thanks to the wheel hub motors, BMW has gained a lot of space on this platform and this creates room for completely new possibilities. For example, in the axle suspension, but also in the distribution of the batteries. It can be assumed that an 800-volt system with the new round cell battery technology will be used here. As you can see in the pictures, the driver and front passenger sit very low in the vehicle. It is also not known what is behind the driver and front passenger seats. There could be two more small seats here or the battery technology is located in the rear of this vehicle so that the driver and front passenger can sit lower in the vehicle.
Design features of BMW studies
If you compare the design of this prototype with that of the Vision Neue Klasse study, you will recognize many similarities. Not only the light element in the front is similar, but also the high rear end with the inward profile below the rear lights and the bumper, which is then clearly protruding again and in which the diffuser is integrated. As in the Vision Neue Klasse study, the rear lights are divided in the centre. The roof of this Coupé could also be made of glass, similar to the concept car.
However, the question still remains as to which model this is. It will not be a concept car on wheels or another study, as such models are usually not camouflaged. In addition, this prototype has far too conventional side mirrors for a study and is even equipped with a windscreen wiper.
The prototype was provisionally charged with the bonnet open via a small plug, which could have been an AC plug, because there was no charging point at the roll-out location. A charging flap on the body cannot be recognized.

G90 M5 Start of Production
Dingolfing. A few days ago, BMW M GmbH unveiled the new BMW M5 (Energy consumption, weighted, combined: 1,7 – 1,6 l/100 km [166.2 – 176.6 mpg imp] and 25,5 – 25,0 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions, weighted, combined: 39 – 37 g/km according to WLTP; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10,3 – 10,2 l/100 km [27.4 – 27.7 mpg imp] according to WLTP; CO2 classes: weighted, combined B, with discharged battery G) and released the first official pictures. Today, the new high-performance sedan celebrated its official start of production at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. The seventh-generation BMW M5 is the first to come off the assembly line with an electrified drive train: The model-specific M HYBRID system combines a V8 engine with an e-drive to deliver a system output of 727 hp, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 in just 3.5 seconds. The vehicle’s high-voltage battery, with an available energy content of 18.6 kWh, offers an electric range of 67 to up to 69 kilometres (WLTP) that is unique among its competitors.
“We are proud to be building the latest generation of the iconic M5 here in Dingolfing,” says Plant Director Christoph Schröder. The site already delivered the pre-assembled bodies for the very first BMW M5 models, back in the 1980s, which were then completed by hand at M GmbH in Garching. Since the second generation – or, to be more exact, 1988 – the high-performance sports car has been built entirely at the plant in Lower Bavaria.
Central components for the new BMW M5 are also produced on site or supplied by nearby component plants. Schröder refers to this as an “under on roof production approach”. For example, the chassis of the BMW M5, specially tailored to the model, comes from Dingolfing component plant 02.10, while the high-voltage battery is assembled next door at plant 02.20, the Competence Centre for E-Drive Production. The carbon-fibre roof is supplied by the plant in Landshut, located 30 kilometres away.
A unique aspect of production at the vehicle plant is the modifications already made in the body shop. Based on the BMW 5 Series standard production body, the BMW M5 features additional measures to stiffen the body structure and a specially widened body with flared wheel arches, thus also enabling the integration of the M-specific rear axle.
In the paint shop, customers can choose between ten standard and 150 special-request finishes for their new BMW M5.
The new BMW M5, like its predecessor, is assembled alongside other BMW 5 Series, BMW 4 Series and BMW M4 models on the same production line, where it is completed with specific equipment options, such as the CFRP rear spoiler, M steering wheel and M multifunction seats.
Over the coming weeks, production at the plant will gradually ramp up to several dozen BMW M5 vehicles per day. The European market launch of the new model is scheduled to get underway from 2 November 2024. By then, another new model will already be celebrating its premiere at Plant Dingolfing: the new BMW M5 Touring, which expands the BMW M GmbH offering and completes the new BMW 5 Series range.
